Q. Can I come without a partner?
A. Yes!! Our instructors are skilled at teaching both couples and individuals in private lessons.
Singles are welcome in our group classes as well! However, many of our students do come as a couple.
We exchange partners on a voluntary basis in our group classes, so you will be able to dance
with a partner. However, if you do not want to exchange partners you are not required to do so.
Q. How long are your classes?
A. Our classes last 45 minutes. Private lessons are a great way to have one-on-one instruction on technique
while group classes are a great way to learn new dance steps, patterns, and variations. You may think
that all dancing is just moves, but this is missing the bigger picture! Dancing consists of leading and following technique
as well as steps. These techniques are explained in depth in private lessons, and are briefly touched
on in group classes.
Q. Do you teach social dancing or competitive dancing?
A. Both!! Whether you are interested in competing in any style or just want to become a better social dancer, our instructors will
help you reach your goals. All of our professional instructors at American Classic Ballroom are fully equipped to teach amateur couples and amateur individuals
who are interested in social or competitive dancing.
Q. What should I wear to a lesson?
A. Wear clothing that you are comfortable in and that allows your body to move freely. At first, wear shoes that are comfortable and flexible enough
to dance in. Eventually you may want to invest in a pair of dance shoes as your skill improves.
